JOHN T HALPIN

Our Ship was named after the late founder of our Sponsoring Organization.

Msgr. John T. Halpin was the Pastor of St. Frances de Chantal Parish located in the Throggs Neck Section Of the Bronx. In 1954, he opened what has now become known as The Star Of The Sea - Sea Cadet Corps.

To honor the memory of Msgr. John T. Halpin, the Star Of The Sea - Sea Cadet Corps decided to sponsor a Sea Scout Ship and name the Ship and the Vessel after him.
