Welcome to the home page of Sea Scout Ship 1009 located in Bowie, Maryland. Ship 1009 is chartered by the Boy Scouts of America and is sponsored by the Christian Community Presbyterian Church of Bowie and Discovery Village of Shady Side, Maryland.

Sea Scouting is a co-educational program offered to young adults between the ages of 14 and 21. It's a chance to learn and have fun at the same time. Sea Scouting is organized to promote better citizenship and to improve members' boating skills and knowledge through instruction and practice in water safety, boating skills, outdoor, social, and service experiences, and knowledge of our maritime heritage.

Meetings are held every Monday at 7:00 PM in the school building behind the church/fellowship hall.

Parents are encouraged to attend the parent meeting on the third Monday of the month.
