Montpelier Fest in Laurel, MD.
Once a year, Scouts from Sea Scout Ship 1009 dress up in furry, funny outifts and entertain the children who attend the Montpelier Fest held in Laurel, MD on the first Saturday in May.

Bridge of Honor
Twice a year, the ship holds a "Bridge of Honor" ceremony to honor shipmates who have gained rank, participated in an activity or who have just joined the ship. Sea Scouts and leaders perform all ceremonies in their "land ship."

Naval Academy Concessions
In the Fall, as a fundraising activity, the Ship runs concession stands at the United States Naval Academy home games. It's an all day affair, setting up the stands, selling food and counting up the money. We are close to the games and feel the excitement of the crowd.

Nut Sale Fundraiser
In October, the annual nut sales begin. We buy nuts in bulk in response to the orders Sea Scouters bring in. The nuts are hand packed into one pound bags during a nut bagging activity in November. The nut sales are timely since the nuts arrive right around holiday baking time.
